Wenli (Renee) Yang studied visual art and design in China and Canada and received a Master's degree from the Academy of Art&Design, Tsinghua University. She worked as an instructor of design at Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology for several years and is now a Vancouver-based artist identified by the Canadian Council for the Arts.

Wenli's artistic interests mainly focus on self-identity. As an immigrant, she moved from one city to another. When she immerses herself in different places, she is eager to find the answer to the question: who am I? She tries to share this feeling and find the meaning of life as a human being. Her other artistic interest is in multi-visual effects. Wenli believes that visual effects are one of the most beautiful parts of artwork. Therefore, exploring various ways to express artwork is essential in her creation. In addition, she pays attention to issues crucial to human life, such as global climate issues, women's social identities, etc., endeavoring to arouse people's care for these issues through artistic means.
